Execute - Make it Happen

Here at Yarns Made Real, we strive hard to make ideas and dreams real and I’m not just talking about creating a new colorway for dyeing yearn or coming up with new plants and flowers for natural dyes and eco prints or creating a new online shop.

 Rather, after imagining what I want life to be like….there is a process where planning and action equals the outcome – it makes an idea real.

 Now, as we all know, there are many styles of learning so for each of us we have a preferred style. Maybe its hands on, or we spend hours researching or watching You Tube videos to understand.

 Years ago my arms were full of DIY books from the library as I tried to teach myself what I didn’t know. Today we have Google and it makes learning and knowing easier.

 All ideas and projects have steps that must be done in some kind of order to complete and finish the goal.

 Action here is crucial and its often incremental, where we must do one step before and then another after to make progress. Action steps can be another drilled down function of looking at the big picture – we can either guess or we can create a plan to get there.

 It helps to specifically list the steps – how long they will take to accomplish – so you have a start and an end date.

 This can be transferred to your calendar – also into the habits that will support the changes as you go along.

 This is often what is lacking in making traditional resolutions at the start of the year – there is no real plan, habits or due dates for reaching the goal. So by mid-February, most people have already given up.

 Take a different approach this year. Make a plan, take action, make it real!
